What's new at Mill Creek Haunted Woods for 2026? Do you have any new rides, attractions, or special features that Haunt Seekers should know about?
We have made changes to the haunted walk, such as adding a vampire crypt and werewolves. We actually try to make changes every year so that the trail is always different.
What differentiates Mill Creek Haunted Woods from other local haunts in North Carolina?
We are a family-oriented business. We want everyone to enjoy the walk in the woods and be able to see everything without feeling rushed, so we limit the number of people in the woods. It is a self-paced walk. We try our best to space out the groups going through; therefore, you will only be with your own group.
How long has Mill Creek Haunted Woods been in business? Can you tell us a bit more about Mill Creek Haunted Woods's history?
The Mill Creek Haunted Woods began with wanting to give our children and the children in the local community a place to go to trick or treat. It started in the woods with just a few stations for the children to go and trick or treat and get a little scare. Thirty years later we are still giving out those scares, and everyone gets candy when they make it out of the woods.
What's your favorite experience since opening Mill Creek Haunted Woods?
Hearing the screams of course! Just knowing people are having fun.
How long is a typical haunt experience at Mill Creek Haunted Woods from start to finish?
The area we use is on about 1 1/2 acres and you pretty much walk the perimeter of the property. It is self-paced so you can go as slow as you want, we do not want to rush anybody. Typically, it takes about 15 minutes to go through everything.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how scary would you say Mill Creek Haunted Woods is? Why?
I personally think it is a 10. You are walking in woods, it is at night, and any little noise can be scary. You hear screams or some other noise that you are not expecting, could be a wild animal (running from you), and you never know when someone will jump out at you.
How has new technology (i.e. animatronics, special props, etc) helped you to enhance Mill Creek Haunted Woods?
In the last 7 to 10 years, we have started using animatronics to enhance our trail.
Can Mill Creek Haunted Woods accommodate large groups? How many people can experience Mill Creek Haunted Woods together as a group?
The groups can be as large as you like but we do try to break them down into smaller groups for more of the fear aspect.
Does Mill Creek Haunted Woods offer any special deals, discounts, or coupons?
Opening night, we discount tickets to $10.00 per person.
