As the first battleship America built for WWII and one that took place in every naval offensive during the Pacific Theater, the USS North Carolina also has the distinction of being the most highly decorated American battleship during WWII. It also has the distinction of being one of the ones that is haunted, with reports saying that a blonde-haired sailor roams around the ship and sticks his head out of portholes. Visitors have described cold spots and have heard doors slamming, all of which have been linked to the blonde sailor.

The battleship is a must see landmark for anyone in Wilmington any time of the year BUT…. I went to the battleship one year where it was set up like a haunted GHOST SHIP and it was so very cool. Why did they stop doing this? I tell my kids about it every year and wish they’d do it again! I’m looking for fun Halloween stuff to do with my middle and high school kids and there aren’t many choices in and around Wilmington this year that fit what we’re looking for. Please consider doing the haunted battleship again!?!?! PLEASE!?!?!?!?🥺🥺🥺

Few years back, my family and I was there and learn about the history of the navy ship and I did not think about the ship is spooky or anything. Love it
