Maze of Terror Reviews

I’m a huge haunt fan and haunt hunter, and I travel quite a bit checking out different haunted attractions. This year I decided to give Maze of Terror in China Grove a try, and I was genuinely impressed.

Right from the start, I loved the atmosphere. The food trucks and small vendors gave you plenty to check out while waiting, and the fireworks were a really cool way to kick off the night. Even the hayride down to the trail helped build the anticipation. The creepy music playing throughout the property was another nice touch that kept you in the experience.

I also really appreciated seeing security and medics on site. When you’re dealing with a large outdoor haunt and big crowds, seeing that kind of organization definitely stands out.

As for the haunt itself, there were several scenes that really impressed me. Without giving too much away, there’s a TV scene that gave me major Samara vibes and was easily one of my favorites. I’m a big fan of older horror movies, so I loved this one. The combination of the black lights, screen, and overall setup made the scene feel surprisingly immersive and legit. Definitely gave me goosebumps.

There’s also a funeral/church scene involving nuns that was incredibly creepy. The lighting gave the entire scene an eerie look, and just when I thought I had made it through, one of the nuns got me GOOD at the end. What made it even better was hearing footsteps behind me afterward.

Another standout was this bizarre candy room followed by a hallway filled with stuffed animals. It sounds innocent until you’re actually walking through it. Extremely creepy! This room was top notch, and you could tell a lot of time, creativity, and thought went into putting it together.

The graveyard was another favorite. Man, the amount of detail in that area was impressive. You could tell a lot of work went into it. The creepy Wendigo looking creatures were a spectacular touch and probably my favorite characters visually in the entire haunt.

There’s also an abandoned school bus, and I won’t spoil exactly what happens there. I completely missed someone inside until it was too late. They didn’t even have to say anything. Sometimes those quiet scares are WAY more effective than someone just screaming at you.

Speaking of screaming, watch out for the creepy girl. That scream and laugh legitimately raised the hair on my arms.

The corn maze was another favorite and added some variety to the experience. I’m definitely not spoiling that one. You’ll have to come see it for yourself, and it does not disappoint!

I’m intentionally leaving a lot out because half the fun of a haunt is not knowing what’s waiting around the next corner. Overall, Maze of Terror had a great atmosphere, creative scenes, impressive detail, good scares, and several moments that caught me completely off guard.

Awesome we have the best time amazing actors who will actually stop scaring if need be for someone even have medical staff and police officers the actors are great I have my own favorite one but want say who don’t want to spoil it 👻👻💀💀🎃🎃 and the owner’s are great people

The Maze of Terror is an absolute thrill! From the moment you step in, the immersive atmosphere and heart-pounding scares keep you on edge. The intricate design is great. Amazing from start to finish.

We have went the last two years to Maze of Terror. We had a great time last year an were excited to return this year! The addition of additional food trucks at the ticket counter helps to give people plenty to do while waiting foe their turns to go through. Once on the tractor it took us about an hour to get all the way trhough the maze. Loved the new jump scares that started on the tractor ride down and the new scenes and actors that were added. Watching my sister get scared by Art was one of the highlights of the night. Looking foraed to returning again next year an see what new things are going to be done. Definitely recommend!

Get there about 30-45 min early. It’s one of the best haunted mazes/houses I’ve been too! 5 stars all day!!!

All the actors and all the props were awesome ! They did great detail work on all the scenes . It was a pretty neat haunted house and we enjoyed it a lot with the kids . We drove over 2 hours to get there and we planned a whole day around it with the urban air trampoline park about 35 mins away and Texas Roadhouse . So the location is pretty great also . If it rains i recommend wearing shoes you don’t mind getting dirty 😜!! 10/10 recommend

Hands down the most detailed haunted trail we have ever been to, very well thought out. Me and my family had a blast and are planning on going back next weekend! If you have never been you have to check it out!
