Built in 1922 as a Baptist church, the Old Courthouse Theatre is now used for musicals and other plays. Apparently, however, not everyone is content with the building being used for charming, creative expression. "The Deacon" is the apparition who apparently is the culprit of flickering hall lights, rattling set pieces, and shifting stage lights. Other noises have also been reported, including jingling keys and assorted singing voices.

Deacon has said hello a few times.

I have done a few shows there. I have had small happenings that can usually be explained except for one. I was working the spotlight for a show and the spotlight collapsed while I was working it. This was preceded by lights swaying during rehearsals. and doors that were closed being open when I returned. Nobody else had been in the area.

Amazing

I was doing the spotlight in the play Ruthless! I bought a KitKat at the concession stand. I left it in the dressing room. When I went back to get it, it wasn’t there. I was just thinking that someone took it. The next day I went back upstairs to the dressing room like usual. The show was about to start so I went back downstairs. The KitKat was in a prop tree! I had walked past that on the way up. Remember, a KitKat has a bright orange wrapper, so I wouldn’t miss it. Another time, I was just walking in the hall and something threw a little set piece at me. I’m always eager to go back though.
