Lots of different props throughout the venue. Pickles, our hayride guide was awesome! Good way to spend a couple hours in a Halloween environment. Definitely will come back next year.

  • Email Verified Killer bang for your buck!

The bang for your buck is insane! Hayride. Trail. Axe throwing. Last Ride. Pitchfork tossing. Killer music. Dedicated actors. Amazing custom scenes that you won't find at any other haunt. Great food. Family friendly. You won't find a place like this anywhere else. They will chase you away screaming & then have you begging to do it again. 100/100 stars.

  • Not as bad as i thought

This was my first haunted house/trail id been to and i had my expectations very high. while they were not met, it was pretty fun. The trail wasnt as scary as i thought and more on the funny side, the hayride was hilarious as well. Overall pretty fun and i would recommend it.

  • Email Verified Hillside review

This was my first time visiting Hillside. We originally came to only do the hayride, but instead chose the combo ticket. I have a couple issues with the queue line. It is a personal preference, but I dislike the loud queue music. There as a group, waiting in line, it was hard to speak to each other and hear over the music. Hearing the security guard was also a problem. I wish haunts, especially outdoor woods trails would play ambient music. Halloween rock/metal/pop takes away from the scenes inside the trail. You can hear that music and it is distracting. Please post a note online or by the ticket office about having to crawl in two places. We bought our tickets before learning from the security guard about the crawling. Luckily, the scene greeters we're good about letting us bypass those sections without a problem. Thank you!! Alleviated my sudden anxiety over having to crawl which is hard on my knees. The corn maize was well done. There were some good scares. We did encounter a few actors that broke character around kids that were just ahead of us, but overall well done. I was a bit disappointed by the hayride. I did appreciate them not packing the wagon. The first 5 minutes I kept looking behind us, expecting a run up scare, but nothing. I know actor and patron safety is paramount, but the beginning needs more. My gripe would be that there were no surprises. I saw all the actors coming, and saw all the actors that boarded the ride long before they boarded. I didn't so much mind the humor, but wanted more scares. The 2nd chainsaw guy who "cuts" the railing was the best. The trail was a hike, but had a few great scares. The junk yard, the electrocuted guy and some dark corners really got me. I also applaud the haunt for using smells. They were horrible, nose clenching aromas, but I appreciate affecting the sense of smell. I would like to see the hayride improve. It feels like an afterthought right now. Maybe a cohesive storyline. Maybe build that storyline into the waiting area too. I'd love to see the story built up on social media as well. Maybe a beast that haunts the woods, the cornfields and attacks the moonshining operations. Cryptids are such a hot topic right now. The ride guide could definitely talk up the cryptid angle. I was hoping for a more creepy story vibe, but it was more improv humor. If you can work it out, a scare from above, in the trees would be really great!! I think this haunt has room for improvement but it was great to get out and check out someplace new to us. We found everyone working there was pleasant to deal with.

  • Best Haunt

This was our first year going to Hillside and we ended up going twice. The actors are fun to mess with and will definitely scare you if you aren't paying attention. During the Black Out, my husband, who very rarely jumps at anything, was scared in the room that gets smaller. It was priceless because I have waited 6 years for this moment. As far as favorite scene.... it's really hard to choose just one. I liked them all!!!! We can't wait to go back for Christmas and again next year at Halloween!!!

  • Great, but be warned

Now after working Hillside Horror 2014-2016, going through the trail 2017, and working the trail again in 2018 I though I knew what to expect. I was DEAD wrong! The location was new and the trail seemed completely new too. Since I've worked there the people working the trail knew me, and I got so many shout-outs and was called by name frequently. That was inetractive and fun! The monsters don't just scare you. They interact wih you which is great! The scary rabbit at the end is great, but really every actor did a good job. My friends Autumn and Joel had good scenes. There are some genuine fearful moments and there wasn't one little bit where I was bored. The only bad things were the cold weather (not their fault), and the uneven terrain. I have myotonic dystrophy and am not a coordinated walker so I dount bothers most patrons. If you have leg issues make sure you have someone with you who knows and can help you (a cane won't work). I had two times where I almost fell, but my bestie kept me standing. I avioded the wacky house because Autumn told me to. There are very disorienting ptch drak m oments where you can't see and that is so bright you can't see. Truthfully I didn't like those scenes much. They weren't too long, but you didn't more than two or three. Overall though if you like haunts this is essential. Twenty dollars is the cost (totally worth it), and you may want to bundle up. I regreting not using gloves, but go to this one if you're into this. You will not be disappointed!

  • Would recommend for kids

It was okay, wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. The characters were good and so was the scenery. Sadly wasn't for adults or teens more or less for kids. I have more to say about another place that is more for grown adults "Spooky woods".
